THE ENGINE

TIME TO START DOING IT RIGHT!

There were a lot of changes that occurred in our lives over the next several years,

so work on the Chevelle was intermittent until about September of '05.

OUR WEDDING!!!

May of 1999

OK, I couldn't wait anymore, the car needed quarters to do it right, and there was no way I could afford that

at the time.  So, we slammed it back together and spray bomb primered it.

End of 1997

Well, the engine was clapped out by now (170,000 miles), so I figured it was time to do some fixing up.

I was on a very tight budget (as always), so this is what we got done before we dropped the body

back down.  See the description on the "Beater" page for the engine specifics.

The engine and drivetrain that ended up in the Pontiac, started it's life here.

This time the trunk floor and the rear passenger compartment floors got fixed, and the frame got all

cleaned up and painted.  The suspension got all cleaned up and rebuilt as well.

1995

The car was bought as a daily driver in August of 1995.  I wanted a muscle car to drive back and forth to work.  Not some cookie cutter new car.

It wasn't cherry, but it worked well.  It was a 307, factory air car, unmolested.  The air worked great.

Unfortunately, this is the only pic I have of the car from the beginning.
